1/100 MG Gundam Strike IWSP (1st airbrushed kit)

Sharing my first airbrushed kit. When I was in Highschool I just spray the base color (without primer) on the parts while they are still attached in their sprues...added washes and dry brushing and that's it. For this kit I researched first and read forums related to scale modeling and gunpla and watched videos on youtube.

I started by washing the kit with mild detergent and left it to dry. Cut the parts and assembled the kit step by step. This helped me in "memorizing" what the part looked like and where they go. After building the kit i dis assembled the kit and started clipping them in alligator clips attached to sticks. For the initial coat i used   vallejo primer grey and left it to dry overnight, mixed tamiya acrylics for pre shade and white base color, vallejo for the red and blue. mr mark softer for the decals. tamiya gloss black and zippo lighter fluid for washes. semi gloss coat from tamiya. I initialy had it "flat" but didnt really like the "dull" texture. A flat finish just doesnt look good on a gundam of this scale so i opted for a semi gloss finish. I guess personal preference comes into play when deciding on the color and texture of the gunpla. some like it flat, super gloss, mettalic, plain, or whatever.

For this build..... Ive learned a thing or two in priming and howto use my airbrush when doing preshades and basecoats. I still need to learn some more in sanding and using mr surfacer to correct some flaws in the plastic molds. probably practice more "detailing" techniques. So far im happy how the strike IWSP ended up.
